At tonight's City Council Meeting, the property owners of Stetson, also known as Community Facilities District 93-1 Improvement Area 18, take the first step to gaining control of our Special Tax Assessment, Mello-Roos fees.
I will be submitting petitions signed by 95 of Stetson's 195 property owners to request the Beaumont Finance Authority (BFA) adopt a Resolution of Consideration, "a procedure for amending the package of powers that have been conferred on the local legislative body (the BFA). This can include both increasing or reducing those powers." These signatures represent 48% of the property owners in Community Facilities District 93-1 Improvement Area 18, almost twice the number of signatures required by law to make this request.
