No Changes To The Parent Involvement Policy Proposed

The second reading of the board policy and administration regulation dealing with the district's parent involvement policy is in the board packet available on the district website. Here's the link:<>". The Parent Involvement regulations begin on page 85 of the .pdf file.

There are no changes proposed to the current policies. It's no surprise to me that the administration isn't interested working with parents to increase parent involvement in the district's board meetings and committees. It will be interesting to see on Tuesday if all five board members agree.

If no changes are made, I don't want to hear in the future from this administration, or board, about how few parents are involved on the district committees or how parents only show up to board meetings when they have a complaint. Here is an opportunity to encourage parents to use a proactive process as opposed to the reactive process many use now.
