I have been very critical of the direction the board and administration are taking our schools and what programs and services they eliminate. I often hear from many parents who are also frustrated and they ask me what they can do to make a difference.
The Beaumont Spirit Run is a great place to start making a difference right now. All proceeds from this event will be shared among all the district's schools and will be distributed to the PTAs and Site Councils for the parents and teachers to determine the best use of the funds. We hope this is just the beginning of something special in Beaumont and we hope to enable parents and community members to have a direct influence on improving the educational experience for our kids. This will not be possible without the help of many volunteers.
On Monday May 10 at 5pm at the Stewart Park Pavilion (9th and Maple) the BSR committee will be meeting to discuss our volunteer needs. This is an opportunity for you to show your support for our schools and the parent organizations that are so important to our students' educational experience. These organizations make it possible for our children to attend assemblies, participate in programs and go on field trips. Many of the activities we all took for granted when we were growing up. Please come join us and make a difference in your schools and community.
