Beaumont Unified School District
BEAUMONT, CA – The Beaumont Unified School District will hold a public meeting on Thursday, March 4 at 6 p.m. in the Choir Room at Beaumont High School concerning the expansion of Beaumont High School.
Information on the project, as well as the California Environmental Quality Act process, will be presented at the meeting. After the presentation, public comments and questions will be accepted.
The District plans to construct a new classroom building at the high school as well as a new Educational Support Facilities building and Athletic complex on 38 acres owned by the District just west of the school.
The District proposes to use approximately 34.5 acres of the parcel for the development of the Athletic complex, including a stadium and additional sports fields. On the remaining 3.5 acres, the District proposes a new Educational Support Facilities building, including a maintenance and operations facility.
An Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) have been completed by the District. The MND is available for a 30-day public review period beginning February 18, 2010 and will end March 19, 2010. Copies of the document are available for review at 500 Grace Ave. between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Any written comments on the proposed project must be received no later than March 19, 2010 at 4 p.m. and be addressed to the attention of Mays Kakish, Assistant Superintendent of Business Services, at the address listed below.
