Last night was one of the most productive board meetings I've witnessed. Many people came forward to express their opinions on how the district should spend Measure Z funds. The board also expressed their opinions and we finally were able to get an idea of where our elected representatives stand on the district's projects.
In summary, all the projects will be going forward as planned with possibly the exception of the the 21st classrooms. The district's technology future was the hot topic of the night. Most of the speakers told the board it would be better to provide equipment for every teacher in every classroom instead of one or two "smart rooms" at each school. The board instructed the cabinet to come back with proposals that better addressed the needs and wishes of the teachers.
When I have more time I'll provide all the details.
